There I was; a naive, recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and very little experience under my belt, expecting to be snapped up by “one of the big agencies” for an entry-level position as soon as I sent in my resume.
Not the case.
I came across JB Chicago after I decided to open up my job search to smaller agencies. Little did I know, accepting the fall intern position was about to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
JB Chicago is definitely classified as a “small agency,” but that’s what makes it better. Not only do we have awesome clients, a great location, tasty snacks and really cool office decor, JB Chicago also has the most incredible people. Because of the agency size, I was able to work with every single person and learn more about the industry than I could have ever imagined.
As JB’s fall intern, I was given opportunity to oversee projects of my own with complete creative freedom. I contributed in creative brainstorms, sat in on various presentations and I was able to follow multiple projects from beginning to end. I observed JB’s creative process in it’s entirety and I learned that there are no ideas too small.
My experience with JB Chicago has inspired a newfound passion for integrated marketing and a desire to continue my career with a small agency. I am extremely excited for what’s to come and I have JB Chicago to thank for that.
So thank you, people of JB Chicago. Your donut-eating, tea-drinking, plant-loving selves have allowed me to grow immensely over the past few months and I am forever grateful for everything that you helped me accomplish. JB may be small, but it sure is mighty.
