After experiencing big agency life and realizing there was a smarter way to do things, Steve opened shop in 2000. Today, he uses his diverse background in design, marketing, management and client relations to lead the JB Chicago team, with the goal of providing accountable marketing that is tied to measurable results — making every dollar count.
Prior to founding JB Chicago Steve worked as an art director at GMR, a senior designer at Jager Di Paolo Kemp and a creative at several boutique agencies, where he oversaw launches for Kraft Foods and Burton Snowboards. He is currently on a Board of Advisors to St Xavier University, a board member for both Hooray Puree and Hope for the Silent Voices, and a mentor at the Good Food Accelerator.
The cheeky Creative Director + COO
Originally JB Chicago’s first hire 15 years ago, Christina is now head of the creative department. Her role includes ensuring our clients’ brand is consistent across all mediums, and her expertise in branding, print, digital and social campaigns helps her guide clients in communicating their vision. Internally, she guides the company’s day-to-day operating activities, as well as overall staff development and leadership.
Christina loves working with not-for-profits at JB and has a passion for social justice. She also helps run a clothing pantry every Wednesday that serves the poor in her community.
The forward-thinking Brand Strategist + Senior Copywriter
Kimberly first joined the team in 2008 as a copywriter/associate account executive. After a two-plus-year stint at Leo Burnett she returned to JB to resume the copywriting role, and she has since become the resident brand strategist. Kimberly develops unique, ownable brand ideas and brand stories, then works closely with the design team to develop creative concepts that bring them to life. She handles and/or oversees all writing, editing and proofreading for JB Chicago’s diverse range of clients.
While at Leo Burnett, Kimberly worked on the Allstate Insurance, Proctor and Gamble, Samsung and Firestone Tires accounts. She currently volunteers with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, where she’s been matched with her “little” since 2011, and geeks out on all things interior design.
The chill Lead Designer
Jessica rounds out the JB design team with her love of innovative and illustrative design. She’s a renowned illustrator-turned-designer who uses her hand-drawn aesthetic to bring projects to life.
Jessica honed her skills at California State University, Long Beach and has created illustrated work for California’s most prominent pop culture galleries, as well as for franchises like Breaking Bad, Saturday Night Live and Alice Through the Looking Glass. She also really likes beer, a passion that has taken her to Europe and beyond and added another bullet point to her résumé: author. When she’s not at JB, Jessica can be found drawing at home and chilling with her black cat, Otis.
The tea-lovin’ Designer
Zach joined JB after working two years as an art director at Leo Burnett, where he was a part of the McDonald’s Happy Meal team. He brings along with him his love for all things packaging and branding.
After attending college on the West Coast, Zach returned home to the Midwest to attend the Chicago Portfolio School, where he fine-tuned his design skills. When not at JB, he can be found nervously watching his beloved Arsenal F.C. soccer team, risograph printing or camping.
The opinionated Copywriter, Brand Strategist + Social Media Manager
Dane began his time at JB as the team’s first social media coordinator, but has since taken on the role of copywriter and brand strategist as well. As an experienced creative and editorial writer, his mission is to take a brand story and bring it to the next level by turning it into an engaging personality.
Originally from Indianapolis (or Michigan, depending on when you ask him), Dane is a Chicago transplant who majored in Journalism and minored in Theatre & Drama at Indiana University. When not keeping everyone at JB entertained with his sparkling witticisms, Dane is likely to be found at a local movie theater, in search of the city’s best margarita, or at Walt Disney World.
The savvy Account Supervisor
Lindsey joined JB after spending nearly four years as a PR and social media account executive at a neighboring Chicagoland agency where she worked on various B2B and B2C accounts. As the main client contact at JB, Lindsey manages the account team and works closely with the creative department to ensure that the client’s goals are executed effectively.
She attended college on the east coast where she was a four-year scholarship athlete on the women’s volleyball team. When not at the office, Lindsey can be found brunching, playing volleyball on the beach and at all of Chicago’s summer festivals.
The detailed Account Executive
Edith is our Account Executive and a self-described idea diva. She comes to the JB team after working 3+ years as the sole Marketing Coordinator for a Real Estate Agency and a Community Bank in Indiana. At JB, Edith works directly with our clients, managing projects and budgets.
Edith left her small Indiana town behind to attend Purdue University, graduating with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising in 2013. When not at JB, Edith can be found catching up on her guilty pleasure; The Real Housewives, cheering on her favorite sports teams with her husband, and face-timing back home.
